It all depends on some families, but first of all the person himself. But usually traditions are the factor for a reason like this.

It depends if you are male or female.

aslam alakum all,
I think you should have specified your question a bit more brother , if you directed your question at a particular group, for example females or males as brother Yemenreform has indicated we would have been able to answer your question more precisely.

However your question made me think, and although there are more people getting education now in yemen;marriage remains very important to many people. Yemeni parents seem to think that marriage is the best thing for their children especially their daughters. Therefore education become less important especially for yemeni girls since they are influenced by the parents thinking.
Most yemeni parent abroad also seem to emphasis 'marriage' and take their children to marry in yemen before they finish their higher education. I think they do this to maintain Religion or simply because they are just following tradtions and culture.
I cannot generalise what I see in the yemeni community around me to all the yemenis but i would say that marriage is more important to yemenis and this could be because of the social influence we are exposed to.

Personally, education is more important to me as a yemeni because i want to do something for both myself and my religion but this is not the case with most yemenis.
(Sorry for the long reply)
