Post My favorite TV Show in Ramadan
I know that Ramadan is about prayer and remembering the needy and connecting with your family and community, but I am sure everyone had time to watch at least one Show on TV.

The Syrian shows seem to dominate year by year.
Maybe its going to take its time and get boring like the Egyptian shows. Maybe one day the Yemeni shows will dominate the Ramadan TV screen.

I see many people on Babalyemen.com were watching Bab Al-7arah. I guess being a member I watched it too. I really liked the first one and I don't think I will be following part 4.

Bab Al-7arah had some interesting subtle messages.
The constant interference and oppression by the foreign occupation French forces.
The conflict between the different neighborhoods with someone fanning the flames and trying to benefit from the resulting violence.
The positive family values and correct social behaviors that we are trying to maintain in the face of all influences.

The only thing I did not like was the constant problems between the women. OFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

If you have time to share what was your favorite show and what you liked about it? please do Thank You

Assalam Alikum people..

Ramadan this year was as wonderful as every year Alhamdulillah. Undoubtedly though, watching shows has become one of Ramadan’s necessities, as tons and tons of series are broadcasted just during this holey month.

This is my third Ramadan away form my county, and to be honest I have never taken advantage of this month as I have been doing during my stay here. As a student, I got the chance to volunteer with the university’s MSA. And it is so amazing to see how Muslims here enjoy Ramadan. Differently from the Arab countries, where Ramadan is just a synonym of food, TV and mid-night outings. Here, Ramadan is full with activities regardless of your age and sex. Mashallah , several lectures were hold daily in the mosques, families were competing to donate food to the universities’ Iftar, and more and more of such good deeds that make you realize the beauty of being in this month.

I am not criticizing here, bss it is nice to reflect some of what I ‘ve observed with you guys. So going back to the shows topic, defiantly being partially involved in the community here, has re-oriented my interests ‘’ TV-show- wise” ( I m not sure if this makes sense or not  )… Mostafa Hosni, a young Egyptian da3ia, has a very nice show called the lost treasure, where he takes hadeeth a day and relate in a nice way to our life nowadays. (I really like the way he conveys his point), there was also this show called 5awater by Ahmed al Shaqiri( this show was basically criticizing the situation in the Arab countries , sometimes coz the law is not followed by people or simply coz it does not exist!!! endl
….
I will be back to see how others spent their Ramadan

Salam

Thanks, Zorbyan for your thoughtful input. I must say that it's quite the opposite for me. In Yemen, Ramadan was all about reciting Quran and being the Masjid and I'tikaf...etc.
Since I came to the U.S., it's been probably only one time when I finished reciting the whole Quran in Ramdan; this past Ramadan I only was able to do 2 suras!!
Back home, even the air and the climate changed in Ramadan(at least this is how it always felt).

But I agree that people(muslims) here are more active during Ramadan and more religious. The Masjid is full of people all nights of Ramadan, but as soon as the Eid comes, the Masjid goes back to being deserted!

Yallah, Salamz

Did not watch any shows this Ramadhan, like any other Ramadhan since I left Yemen in 2000. Ramadhan in Yemen has unique side to it. Like Waleed says, the whole climate changes. People sleep in late, and stay up late, pray Taraweeh, eat more than usual, and chew at night. And there are the usual gatherings around TV, but at least in the village, people become more religious, and read Qur'an in halaqat, etc.

Aslam alikum
Each Ramdhan i try to not watch more than two shows or programs, this year i watched bab al7ara 3 and 5water 4 (both on mbc). And although there are many muslim people here (birmingham,uk) and we try to make ramdhan as special as possible , Ramdhan in Yemen remains far too special.

And like you brother Osama i left Yemen in 2000 and although i was too young to fast back then i still remember that unique feeling of Ramdhan. However many things has changed since and Ramdhan in the village is not the same at all.

Thank you everyone for sharing your wonderful experiences for last Ramadan. I was not in the greatest of health and it was tough to take the complete doses of medication, but for some reason Ramadan just has this amazing feeling that it leaves in your heart and how you see others and the world.
